Finding Fanny is a film of nuts but not like houseful series. Finding Fanny does not only show comedy but also sorrow. The film is about a story of Goa-based village. Finding Fanny demonstrates a different India which gives you peace.
Ferdie (Naseeruddin Shah) is a 75-year-old postmaster. Angie (Deepika Padukone) is a friend of him. She is a widow and her mother in law, Mrs Rosalina 'Rosie Eucharistica (Dimple Kapadia) is also a widow. Savio (Arjun Kapoor) and Gabo (Ranvir Singh) both want to marry Angie, but Gabo proposed her before Savio, so she marries to Gabo. Gabo died on the day of the wedding. Savio went to Mumbai for work. Life is not going lightly.
One day Ferdie Received his 46 years old letter which he sent to his lover Fanny. He proposed Fanny for marriage through the letter. He didn't receive any answer to the letter, so he thought that Fanny rejected him. After 46 years, he came to know the message did not reach to Fanny. He started to regret. He starts to think that he should have talked to Fanny about his feeling. Angie finds the truth behind Ferdie's sorrow. She talks to Savio for taking them to Fanny's village. They arranged a car which belongs to a Painter Don Pedro (Pankaj Kapur). They all go to find Fanny where they all find the truth about each other's life. Now what? Will they find Fanny? Will Ferdie's true that Fanny has been waiting for him?
The film is not as bad as the trailer said. The story is good, but the film looks slightly weird.
Homi Adajania did direction well. The film is looking very different therefore the credit goes to Homi Adajania.
As well as Cinematography is good as we can see the different-different location with different angles.
If we come to the acting point, Naseeruddin Shah's acting makes this film worth to watch. His performance is outstanding. Pankaj Kapur and Dimple Kapadia performance are excellent. Deepika, Arjun Kapoor performed well. Ranvir Singh makes you laugh by his cameo performance.
In the end, The film is worth to watch. But you have to keep patient to watch the film as the film is slightly slow. The film teaches us to live in reality, not in imagination. Truth is bitter but gives happiness.
